Tamil language lessons

Little Shriya in the front, then her mother Shemi, Carolyn, Jayanti, and Mariama
Just wanted to show you my first Tamil language lesson. I was expecting Jayanti, sitting on the far side of me in the picture to come and give me a language lesson. But as usual, I was living in my American brain. Naturally, the neighbors would want to participate.

God, ERica, my lexsons are going really well. It's only been 4 days, and I already know 22 letters/sounds. I can recognize letters in the Tamil newspaper. Very exciting. (I wondered who kaka was!)

Love you!

kaka is how my chinese friend call me. in our language, we like to repeat a word from a person's name and that sounds cute to us. e.g. if someone's name is Wong Sau Mei, her friend may call her "Mei Mei". my name is eri-ca and they decided to call me ca-ca. i don't think i sound cute to the english speakers though. :)

good to hear that your lessons are going well!! and you start to recognize letters in newspaper too?!! how exciting! well... i expect you to show me around like a local when i come visit you, ok?

happy chinese new year!

Later the way and style of Tamil Language has changed , then Shaiva and Vaishnava philosophies, and literature influenced by Sanskrit. Some of these were the esteemed Bharatham in Tamil by Tamil poet Villiputthurar, Thiruppuhazh in Tamil (hymns) by Tamil poet Arunagirinathar. Some popular purana stories were translated in Tamil.

Tamil literature was considerably bound by literary conventions. The poets were keen on keeping up the tradition. The land was treated as five regions viz. mountains, forests, fields, coasts and deserts and the theme of love in five aspects viz. union, patience, sulking, wailing and separation. The poet dealing with a certain aspect of love restricted himself to a particular region, season, hour, flora and fauna. These literary conventions are explained in Tolkappiyam.if you want to learn tamil means Tamil alphabet 1 is the best one of i Phone app ...Its very useful for all the age groups to learn Tamil in an easy way...
