"The Wild Tress" by Richard Preston

The Wild Trees: A Story of Passion and DaringJust finished this wonderful book.  Honestly bought it not realizing what it really was.  Thank heaven!  It is a non-fiction book about newly discovered extremely tall trees and the very skilled, bright people who find them, climb them, and study them.  The story is about these passionate people and the wonderful trees they work with - coast redwoods, mountain ash, eucalyptus regnans.  Wow!  It is a wonderful read.  I read it while touring Nepal.

I learned so much about temperate forest canopies, tree time, other worlds way up there, yet to be discovered.  All the magical things we are losing so rapidly, ya know?

That is a good tree read. Went cover to cover twice, myself. Budget may be why it was a bit slim on photos, but if you are interested, my Portland area based site has photos of a few of the undisclosed groves and trees.

Look in the 2nd menu for the coast redwood tab.

Just got back from a bit of traveling, so missed your comment until now. How great of you. I checked out the photos, and it brought it all back. To see actual pictures gets me in the gut. Thank you so much.
