Krishna wanted to go to the top of the mountain to see the Saravanamalai temple again. She and Gopal and climbed up there with the landlord earlier. We hired an autorickshaw to take us up to the tea plantation, then walked from there, about a mile roundtrip.
Hard to see, but there is a lot of moss and lichen in this forest.
This is where the path verges to the right and sharply (more sharply) up the hill.
This is looking down from the top but you can't really tell how steep it is.
The top of the hill is solid rock.
View from the hill.
Gopal performing aarti at the temple (with flame)
Puja
Jojoba between the forest and the tea garden
Ferns in the forest
Krishna sitting on a bhairav temple along the path where we put flowers and lit incense on our way up
Looking down on a white church we can see when we look up into the hills from our porch
Wild bison (endangered species)
Another picture so you can see the little one in front
When we got back to the autorickshaw, we went on to a vista point called Dolphin's Nose because of its shape
View from Dolphin's Nose
Needless to say, it was a wonderful day.
