Tilak and Nandani - Ooty

Walking to the main road to catch a taxi who's late arriving.  This is the lane where we live.

This is Carolyn bitching that the taxi is 40 minutes late and why doesn't Gopal call and harrass the driver.

We arrive at the Ooty Lake, ready for a boat ride.  (Carolyn is now smiling.)
Everybody in these two boats knew each other, and they were having so much fun bumping their boats against each other.

Many improvements had taken place since we'd been there, apparently for the Ooty Flower Show.  We ate on this new deck.  It was really nice, right by the water.

Then on to the Botanical Garden, which we love.

The trees here are really wonderful.  So many varieties and so large and mature.  This may be the Monterey Cypress of all things.

This is a Monterey Cypress.

The sun was extremely hot that day, and this photo pretty much shows how we were feeling as we made our way back to the entrance.

On the way home, the driver pulled over at this view point.

We had a truly wonderful day.  We had been to the Botanical Garden and to the Boat House many times, but this time was particularly special.

Tilak Sunar and his bride Nandani come for a visit 1-5 October 2010 - Sims Park

Raju got this shot from the sun room before Gopal left to pick up Tilak and Nandani at the Coimbatore airport.
Tilak and Nandani
The day they arrived, we took them to Sims Park near our house (Tilak, Raju, Krishna, Carolyn, Nandani)

Outside the entrance to the park, a vendor was selling bubbles and blowing them into the air.  One delicately settled on a thorn bush!
As you can see, Gopal and I are the nature geeks.

Trees have been planted at Sims Park since 1874.
Lunch at Appu in Coonoor.  We had a very good lunch there and a lot of fun.
